STORYLINE
In 1914, Chen Zhen, a Chinese martial artist, attends Kyoto University and faces thugs from the ultranationalist Black Dragon Clan. He defeats them using Qin Na techniques and learns that his master, Huo Yuanjia, has died. Chen returns to Jingwu School and becomes a local celebrity. Akutagawa confronts General Fujita of the Imperial Japanese Army, who blames Chen for his master's death. Chen is arrested and placed on trial for allegedly murdering Akutagawa. Ting'en, Chen's lover, learns his lesson and returns to Jingwu. Chen and Mitsuko face hostility and face Funakoshi's attempts to eliminate him. Huo Ting'en and Chen confront Fujita, who exposes a traitor from Jingwu. Chen kills Fujita, and the Japanese ambassador saves the Jingwu school by staging a fake execution. Chen secretly leaves Shanghai for Manchuria to reunite with Mitsuko.
